OneWorld proudly joins forces to help Keys hurricane victims

Thanks to the community’s generous donations, the OneWorld Properties team was able to help deliver a U-Haul filled with Hurricane Irma relief supplies to our friends and neighbors in the Florida Keys.

“Thank you so, so much to all of you who helped us and took time out of your busy day to stop by our drop-off locations. We had an incredible, successful day down in our beautiful Florida Keys,” said OneWorld President and CEO Peggy Fucci after the Sept. 22 delivery.

“We will be heading back not only with goods but most importantly with time to help rebuild our Florida paradise.”

Aria Development Group and Coastal Cares, the philanthropic arm of Coastal Construction, one of the builders working on PARAMOUNT Miami Worldcenter, organized the mission project.

We met people in the Keys from all over the world with the National Guard and volunteers with the Red Cross, food banks, and churches.

Our stops were:
Marathon – Main Collection Point
Big Pine Key – Big Pine Key Flea Market, Saint Peter Catholic Church, Red Cross Tent Camp
Cudjoe Key – a housing community

The items included non-perishable foods, energy-rich snacks, paper plates, plastic utensils, paper towels, baby wipes, insect repellent, antibacterial gel, diapers, formula, bottled water, juice, soda, batteries, flashlights, dry pet food, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, toilet paper, feminine products, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, chainsaws, generators, luggage, working gloves, duct tape, and bleach.

Donations were collected over three days at 11 Florida locations: our Fort Lauderdale office, the 100 Las Olas Sales Gallery, Aria Development Group in Miami, Ocean Drive Magazine on Miami Beach, Pilates on the Beach on Miami Beach, Tap 42 Coral Gables, Tap 42 Midtown, Artefacto Aventura, Artefacto Doral, Harry’s Pizzeria in Kendall, and The Retreat in Clermont.

Other partners were The Greenberg Project, 20/20 Media, The Real Deal South Florida, MIAMI Magazine, Venice Fort Lauderdale’s Magazine, Rik Rak Salon, Red Market Miami, Addison House Furniture, WORLD RED EYE, and Levy Public Relations & Events.
